George Laing | OWNER
George’s career in the workplace started at Canadian Tire Corporation in the accounting and administration departments.
George and Jane purchased the Weed Man Collingwood franchise in 1982 and added the Barrie franchise in 1992.
The idea of a seasonal business allows the family to follow the sports they love - curling, snowmobiling, hockey and more.
Brent Laing (yes, the curler) is still involved in the business as a consultant. George and Jane have seven grandchildren which keeps them busy.
George is a sports fan and loyal Leaf’s fan, too. Little known trivia: George played for the Barrie Junior B Colts during the 1968 / 1969 season.
George also attended high school at Central Collegiate in Barrie.
Sean Kennedy
Our longest employed Lawn Care Technician with Weed Man, Sean started with us right out of high school. He has continued his education with a degree in Environment Technology but keeps coming back. Sean brings a lot of experience to your lawn! With all the changes in lawn care in Ontario within the last 15 years, Sean has seen it all! His identic memory helps as he can tell you exactly what the lawn looked like from his initial visit to now.
Sean is a huge sports fan! Especially of the Toronto Blue Jays and the Boston Bruins (yes, we still love him) .
